The May meeting will include a screening and discussion of the film "A Girl Like Her," which reveals the hidden history of women who became pregnant in the 1950s and 60s and banished to distant relatives or maternity homes to give birth — and surrender their children to adoption. (47 minutes)

General Discussion Meetings are support and discussion groups for any adult adoptee, adoptive parent, birthparent, prospective adoptive parent, significant other, professional or anyone interested in the lifelong journey of adoption.

The meeting takes place monthly. Pre-registration is required at the link above. Attendees to the virtual meeting gather by web conference using Google Hangouts. A Google account is required and a webcam is suggested, though not necessary to view the film.
